Who We Are
Our mission is to empower families with children experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence for a more promising future.
An Introduction to Family Promise
Ending Homelessness on the Palouse, One Family at a Time.
FPP operates through an Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) to provide immediate shelter to families experiencing homelessness in our community while helping people achieve lasting independence. Our IHN is a partnership of interfaith congregations in our community helping families who are facing homelessness.
We are an affiliate of the national Family Promise program that has served over 400,000 people, with it mostly serving children over the past 20 years.
OUR STORY
Family Promise was founded in 1986 by Karen Olson. In the three decades since, it has grown from a rotational shelter program in Union County, New Jersey to a national network that serves families through multiple shelter, prevention, and stabilization programs.

OUR PARTNERS
Our corporate and congregational partners offer resources and people power to change the future for families on the Palouse. Authentic partnerships involve meaningful philanthropy, in-kind donations, and employee, volunteer, and/or member engagement. Together, we create homelessness prevention programs, transitional housing, single family homes, and most important of all: community.
